My first trip was to Asia with a big group of my Chinese family (about 25 people). My sister and I were very young then, so we don’t remember much. However, for the adults, it was a chance for them to reach back into their cultural heritage and relive their nostalgic past, those struggling times, and see lucky and how far they’ve come. Because of my family and their struggle to come to California, they have become the foundation to my experiences of travel. In high school, I went to London for a week to participate in the 2007 New Year’s Parade. Then at the end of my senior year, I traveled to Japan with my Japanese class and since then, my trips got longer each time. Now, I work enough to save for my next trip with no money left over and when I don’t have money, I research and day-dream about where to go next, all of which only means one thing… I got stung by a poisonous travel bug!
Where I’ve Been
For the 5 years I’ve been traveling on my own, I’ve gathered a handful of miles (however, I didn’t gather them for mile points, stupid me), but out of 196 countries and territories in the world, I’ve only been to 18 countries, that’s only 10% of the world. I have 90% more to see! I’ve linked the places that have stories behind the destination, feel free to read on one you are interested in.
