Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. From the old man in Chinese history, he is a pretty funny guy. Though the sayings from Confucius are translated into English, I can imagine this guy speaking in English with a Chinese accent, speaking those wise wise words.
This blog is actually about my adventures for Spring semester here in Björnkulla in Stockholm. Actually, there has already been quite a few adventures since the beginning of the year. I didn’t have a chance to write about Romania or Paris because I was too busy having fun, but I wrote it for myself. The first couple of weeks I got back from Paris, it was non stop partying. Really, I’m not so much a party person but here it’s either you party or nothing. It’s so freezing cold with so much snow for so long now. It’s been literally non-stop snow since the end of October and until today, the snow is about 5 feet high on the side of the roads here in Björnkulla. It’s just melting now, so the floor is completely slippery and dangerous. Going down hills with the flat shoes I have helps me practice skiing.
In the months ahead, I’m going to be expecting visitors, traveling, and sun! First, my sister is coming in the end of March and it’s her first time in Europe. We will be traveling around Stockholm and then going from Brussels to London. I hope I will be closer to her and experience new things with her as I’ve been a way for so long we grew apart, yet at the same time I grew more fond of her. Then in April, I will be traveling and visiting people that I met last semester whom I love and miss so much. I’m going to see Ana and Adriana in Madrid for the first week of the month. We will be eating, watching a Flamenco show, going to Escorial, and spending time with Ana’s family and friends. I’m looking forward to it. Then for Easter break, I will be going to Prague. I will be seeing Honza and Eli, two of the most loving and intelligent people in Prague. I’ll be missing one class and spending a traditional Easter holiday in the country side. They promised me a real country side experience, I might get to ride horses, milk some cows, and eat some tasty Czech food. After I come back from that, my mom and my two aunts will be coming to visit me for two weeks. In these two weeks, they will be staying in my room. I really hope it’s not going to cause any awkwardness upon my roommate or the people in the corridor. Imagine three Chinese ladies who barely speak English going to Europe for the first time and thinking that all the countries here are maybe 1 or 2 hours away. It will be very fun and interesting. I have to plan some Chinese tours wherever we go. My mom only wants to visit one place and that’s Paris, so I will be looking for tickets to go to France and maybe to another country nearby.
After my mom and aunt’s visit, my semester will soon be a close. I don’t even want to think about that. I don’t exactly know my plans yet, but I might go on a trip with the girlfriends I have here and then go home. I don’t want to leave, I wish I can finish my bachelor degree in Sweden.
Enjoy the pictures of Stockholm in February! I had some visitors coming all the way from Taiwan after her internship and two who are currently living in Paris. Two of them from my lovely tech town, San Jose, California.
